The Proenza Schouler designers, Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough, were inspired by surfing and skating for their spring/summer 2010 collection. "We wanted something young, something that felt fresh, so we looked to surfing and skating, the things we grew up on."
They designed brightly colored wedge-heel woven sandals with materials from snakeskin to suede. They have bits of noen detail that make the shoes especially eye catching, but while some of the shoes are really bright, it isn't over the top or obnoxious. The collection had an overall wild child-chic feel that is both fun and cool, and should be a hit when it hits the stores.
