Chicago’s Mikey Rocks and Chuck Inglish have been hailed by Rolling Stone as the city’s “next great duo” and for good reason. Heavy bass, feel-good flows reminiscent of early ‘90s hip hop make their EP,THE COOL KIDZ.Then you have Hailing straight out of Cleveland, Kid Cudi is a paradigm for successfully turning an online buzz into national acclaim. His song “Day N Night.” The pride of Washington, DC, Wale (an acronym for “We Ain’t Like Everyone”) recently inked a joint venture deal with Interscope and über-producer Mark Ronson’s Allido Records. Although people originally likened his sound to his hometown’s prevalent go-go.Then you have recently appearing on MTV’s Sucker Free to dispel the entire notion of “hipster rap,” LA-by-way-of-New Orleans duo The Knux have risen above mediocrity, buzzing with their lead single, “Cappuccino.” The last few months have been good to Factz, whose last Internet mixtape, Heaven’s Fallout, was tremendously well received (we hear he killed it at this year’s SXSW). This summer, Mickey prepares to release the follow-up to Fallout; catch him performing anywhere from local colleges to SOB’s in Tribeca, NYC. Timbaland's praise of Georgia’s Izza Kizza was well deserved: his stuttering flow and choice sound (electro/synth/bass) are a perfect match for Timbo’s left-of-field style.
When I hear all this music from all these artist i think of a very different era of music. Music isn't like it was about four years ago. I love music i listen to just about everything, and I have no problem with none of this new music I'm just not really understanding the meaning. The savior of "Hip Hop" The definition of a hipster is pretty nebulous as what qualifies one as a hipster is broad and sweeping but there is one unifying theme that unites all hipsters: No hipster considers themselves, in fact, a hipster. It’s a dirty word signifying pretension and a tragic taste in culture. Nobody voluntarily wants to be thought of as a hipster. It’s actually a pretty good determiner if you have to defend yourself as not a hipster, your tight jeans wearing ass is probably a hipster. Everyone is changing the style up every guy wants to wear G-Shocks and skinny jeans, just basically keeping up with television the notion of hipster rap is actually pretty damn awesome. It uses the old school aesthetic of 80’s rap and culture and updates it for a modern audience. In a sense, as an audience we are getting the best of both world you ask yourself how will we be in the next few years to come. It's simply just fun to listen to for now. This is not Hip Hop!!! I could understand that i have no rights to judge but this is simply my own opinion. You can't help but to rock off to this shit. Now don't under estimate me I am a fan of Hipster Rap I just wanted to get something across.
